Meet our founder
"I became an engineer and designer because I believe thoughtful design has the power to transform lives. While good technology can empower people, its absence can marginalize them.
In a previous age, impaired vision was a severe disability, but the simple invention of glasses are now taken for granted.
Our goal at Cotenda is to produce products so effective that, like glasses, they are our second nature and taken for granted."
Josh Reid
Inventor of the Poolpod
Our Story:
When the 2012 London Olympic Delivery Authority struggled to find a pool hoist (a device used to assist disabled people to enter the swimming pool) that satisfied their high standards for functionality and accessibility, they launched an international competition to find the right design.
